“Rochelle which side is the fuel tank?” as usual dad asked me the same question again in the gas station… I who was sick of answering the same question all the time said “its on the right”. This question was a big problem to me in the beginning because even I couldn’t remember which side the fuel tank was 
. Thanks to my dad’s all most everyday question I never forgot it, but I knew that I will face this problem again once we buy another vehicle… 
Today when I was checking my Emails I found an interesting mail from a friend of mine… It was all about the problem I had so far… So I thought I must share it with everyone.
If you look at your fuel gauge, you will see a small icon of a gas pump. The handle of the gas pump will extend out on either the left or right side of the pump. If your tank is on the left, the handle will be on the left. If your tank is on the right, the handle will be on the right (see picture below).

This is not true. Many cars are opposite of this. My wife’s Saturn is an example: the icon handle is on the right, the filler is on the left. I’ve found many other cars where this rule is false. The manufacturers have not yet caught on to this simple idea.

i didn’t check it in cars but i did check it in my mother’s van and my dad’s jeep, it was true. so i thought it was ok with every vehicle. anyway thanks a lot for your information.
This didn’t apply to my Honda or Lexus…Wish it had.

I got the same email and checked my van, and the gas tank is on the left yet the nozzle in the picture is on the right lol
